2019 Drive to Thailand – Concluding Thoughts

Another year, another drive to Thailand. This has become a habit, an itch that is extremely hard to shake off. Every time I’m back, I think, am I crazy to love to take these long drives? But when we get ourselves on the road, we just love the journey. I’m glad that I have a wife and kids that share the same love for the road. (Although if you talk to my kids, they might tell you a slightly different story haha)

As we do these drives, the family always has to come first. There is always risk involved, but we have to manage these risks and to choose not to put our family in danger. The drives that we take as a family have bonded us together and given us many wonderful memories to cherish.

Even though we regularly go back to Phuket and Krabi, we are glad to have found new places to explore as a family. This year, for the first time, we spend a number of days in Phuket City, and we had a great time posing at the Phuket Trickeye Museum as well as taking a short drive out to the Phuket Aquarium, enjoying the lovely sights along the coastline.

We spent some time in Hatyai and would like to go back for a more detailed look at the city. Our future plans include spending a few days in Phattalung, Trang and Phang Nga, and also possibly taking the Padang Besar border crossing instead.

We are also looking forward to the end of this year, when we will be doing a fly and rent, exploring the Northern part of Thailand.

Stay tuned, and thanks for reading our adventures!
